The poor unfortunate fellow who left his umbrella at home in the last Rainy Day game is at it again. Darned if he didn't learn his lesson the first time!A businessman wakes up a bit early. In a rush to get to work, he forgets to bring an umbrella. The work day ends and of course... it is raining. Your job is to help him get home without getting drenched in this downpour. As a side quest, you can also help him to save lost animals and return them to their owners, along the way. This isn't something that has to be done. But it's always fun to get bonus points. besides, who can say no to their cute little faces?
You may notice more fun things in the background of this game, that were not in the last one. Buildings with names such as Pizza Hut and other actual businesses. Did they sponcer the game? i haven't a clue. But it's always fun to see something familiar.
This game plays out very much like the last one. Dodge the rain drops. Gather helpful items. Save the pets. get home to the loving family. This one actually grades you on how well you did... I tend to get rather low grades. Way to kill my self esteem...You can choose story mode (My preference) or endless mode. They are pretty self explanatory. In story mode you go through each level until you get home. In endless mode you just continue to run as long as you can until you are crushed by the falling rain drops. Then it's game over.
If the game seems a little confusing, there is a tutorial level, which is pretty handy. It will guide you through the game basics. If you feel a bit lost you can always go back and redo the tutorial level. In fact you can go back and redo any level. You just can't jump forward. Because that would be cheating.
You can use real money to purchase things to help you in game. You don't need to. I opted not to. This is completely optional.
This is a great free game (And available in both the app store and the android market). If you played and enjoyed the first one, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one. No bear heads this time around though. Instead you can wear a cardboard box on your head to stop the rain from getting you for a few moments. I suppose that is supposed to make you look less creepy?... I don't think it worked though. Either way, I think it's absolutely worth the download. The makers of this series are doing a great job. I wonder if we'll be graced with a Rainy Day 3 some day? Maybe with a female character? Perhaps the mommy forgot her umbrella and has to run home with the groceries without getting them soaked in the rain. And on time for supper! It could happen...
