Most people nowadays recognize the small chocolate monster named Domo-Kun or Domo. Starting out as just a character in a short set of animations that were featured in the space between one program ending and another starting, he has since become a world wide sensation. And now you can create your own Domo adventures with the free Domo Photo Bomb Application.
This is more of a "Take a photo of a scene, and add Domo in" sort of application, rather than a "Take a photo of my face and stick Domo in there somewhere" sort of application.
Though I do appreciate the concept of this application, I am very disappointed at the lack of free content. In fact there is only one Domo available to place on a photo... Just one... If you wish to place Domo in a different pose or outfit... be ready to spend some money.
There are many different Domo available to place into silly photo situations. There are 3 different packs available. Each pack will run you 99 cents. or you can get all 3 packs for 1.99USD and it comes with "Text".
On the load page you'll see 5 clickable buttons. "Snap & Share" accesses your camera. You can take a photo and add the Domo in, then share it with your friends.
"Grab Pics" allows you to use a photo already stored on your device. After selecting a photo from your album, you can add Domo in and share it or save it.
"Browse Domo items" will take you to the page to purchase the Domo sticker sets.
"Quick Tips" will give you a basic run through on how to use the application.
"About Domo" will get you a very short intro story about Domo.
As you can see on the right, you can place the Domo directly onto your image. Drag him about and resize him so he fits in the way you want him to. You can click the plus sign to add another Domo, if you wish.
When you like where your Domo is, click the button that looks like a camera. You can then click the "Ab" button to add text. or at least you could if you paid to unlock it.
The button in the far right corner is for sharing. You can send your image to Facebook, Twitter, an email address or save it to your device.
The button next it that button will automatically save the image to your camera roll. As it saves you can watch a tiny Domo do a little dance. It's a small animation that shows up in the middle of the screen. This also occasionally appears at other times when the application is loading something.
I think this is a cute application but I also think more content should be available for free. Paying to add text? Really? That seems a bit much. I think they need to have at least 3 free Domo images and free text. It would be fun if they added frames as well. As it is though, it just left me feeling really unimpressed and a bit disappointed. At least they didn't add a bunch of ad banners though...
