Plant Nanny

Plant Nanny
Plant Nanny is a free application designed to encourage people to drink sufficient water every day to optimise their health.  I know I am pretty guilty of not drinking enough water daily so i decided to give it a try.
Upon starting the app you'll be asked to enter some basic information so the correct amount of water intake can be determined.  Then you can choose the size of glass you'll be drinking from.  Every time you finish a glass of water in reality, you'll tell the app and it will water your plant baby for you.  Watering the plant keeps it healthy and alive, just like drinking water does for you.
You will get to choose a plant and a planter.  Tap the planter to cycle through your options, and tap the plant to cycle through those options.  You can only care for one plant baby at a time and it takes time for your baby to mature.  Once it has matured full you will move it to your garden.  You can collect all your matured plants together in your garden where you will harvest seeds from them (But you will no longer need to water them).  You can see a matured plant in the garden to the right.
Your app will send you notifications if it has been a while since you have indicated that you've had water.  If you indicate that you have had too many glasses of water in rapid succession (For example, if you forgot to enter a few glasses you drank and try doing them all at once) you will get a warning that drinking too much water at once is dangerous.
The plants have different levels of difficulty.  An easy plant baby is heartier and can go without a lot of water for longer without getting sick.  The more difficult plants will require you to drink all your water every day.  Miss a little, and it will get sick right away.  It should also be noted that drinking more than is required won't do anything for you.
If your plant gets sick you can make it healthy again by drinking the full amount of water the next day.  If you don't drink the correct amount again your plant will begin dying.  You will know the difference based on the change in the appearance of your plant and the icon next to it.  A healthy plant has a music note icon.  A sick thirsty plant has a water drop icon.  A dying plant has an dead face icon.  If you continue to not drink the correct amount your plant will die.  You can see some examples below.
EXTRA FEATURES
You can take a photo of your plant to share on social media with the camera icon at the top of the app.
The yellow water drop on the top left is  the water of life.  Using this will make your plant grow faster so it will take less time to mature.  You get some for free at the beginning of the game but in order to get more you must purchase it from the shop.  This is not really something you need to play or enjoy the app though.
Your water gauge will let you know how much water you have drank today.
At the bottom right is the water drinking function.  Tap and hold to drink a glass of water.  If you want to change the size of your water glass you can swipe up the add more glass sizes.  You can see the option to add more water glasses to the left.
The icon on the top right will give you more options.  From here you can visit your garden which stores all of your matured plants.  You can harvest seeds from your garden once a day.  Different types of plants produce different amounts of seeds.  The plants with higher difficulties to care for will grant you the most seeds once matured.
The store can also be accessed from the top right icon.  The store is where you can gain more plant types, more planters, backgrounds that are displayed outside the window your plant is in front of, water of life and seeds.  You can also watch videos to get 9 free seeds from here a day but once you have a few matured plants in your garden you'll earn more seeds than you will know what to do with anyway, so this is really just useful for new users.
The seeds are basically the in game currency that allows you to unlock more plants, planters and backgrounds.  Some of these can be unlocked by downloading the Walkr app, which is another health based app from the same app creators. It is a space based game that uses your step counter to advance in the game.  Unlocking certain parts of the Walkr app will allow you to gain free space themed plants, planters and backgrounds in this app!  it really doesn't take much time and the space stuff is so cute, it is definitely worth it.
The mountain icon seen under the garden icon on your main page will allow you to change the background behind your plant.
The wrench icon is the settings section which allows you to change your body information the volume units, whether or not to show a clock display on the main page, whether to play side effects, garden animations and if you wish the sync to your icloud.  You can also turn on or off your drink reminders or read more about Plant Nanny.
CONCLUSION I think this is a great app.  It is cute, creative, I love the colour palette and it definitely encourages me to drink more water.  An issue I have though is that even if I drink water, I don't always remember to enter that info into the app right away.  This has made my plants sick multiple times, even though I drank enough water.  You really need to remember to enter your water intake in right away, and that can be a little tedious.  Still, I really enjoy this app and recommend it.
