I am sure that many of you are familiar with the Tower Defense style of game. This is the same basic idea as a usual tower defense style game. however, it has a story line, and rather than towers with various weapon types... it has witch characters with different spell types.
This is a free game and I warn you, it can get a little addictive. There are many 'worlds' with many stages within each. As you progress you will unlock more witches and the monsters will get more difficult.
If you find that a particular level is too hard to beat, you can choose to spend crystals to buy boosts for your witches. The crystals are earned through getting good scores on levels and completing them. They can also be purchased for actual money.
When you purchase a boost with your crystals, that boost will be active 'only' on that stage. However, any time you redo that stage, it will always be there for you to use. You won't have to buy it again.
You can also use your crystals to purchase witches that you have not yet unlocked. I have posted some of the witches below that you can use through out the game. Each witch has a short description along with the stats of that witch.
While you are playing the levels, you will notice that the witches talk when clicked on, or when clicked off of. I could be wrong, but all of the witches sound like the same person. She has a very thick accent, but she does speak in English. Though sometimes it is difficult to understand what she is saying. She has a cute voice but isn't the most emotional voice over. Still, it's a fun feature to have.
When you start a level you usually have one witch already chosen for you that is sitting on the stage. You generally have enough 'mana' to put down one more witch. Daisy is usually the best witch to start with because she does a lot of damage with a very low cost. Becky has great range, and when fully enhanced can sometimes hit almost the entire pathway. I usually put her down second (For the first world).
You will also see scattered through out some of the levels small trees or stones with a purple glow to them. these can be attacked like monsters. When you attack and defeat them you will gain mana, which will be used to buy more witches and enhance them to improve their stats (Speed, Damage, Range, etc).Once you press the small "play" button in the top left corner, the first wave comes out. You can not place any more witches down after they've come out, while the game is paused. You can only place witches while the game is progressing. If you become tired of waiting, you can press the x2 button to speed up the waves. But be careful, if you aren't prepared, this can end up being a problem.
When you beat a level, you'll get a score. It will show how well you did and if you did very well, it will give you a medal for that stage.
When you complete all the stages in a world, you will unlock another world. I have only gotten to the third world. I will tell you right now. The third world is very challenging...
One of the things I really love about this game is the silly story. There was an evil king that had her power stolen and sealed away in a crystal. The evil king then became a little girl. She travels around trying to get the crystals to obtain her power. The fact that she is an adorable feisty little girl who is also an "evil king" is so great to me... I can not express how happy that makes me.
Over all I think this is a really fun and addictive application. the graphics are really great, the music and sound effects are nice (And also have the option to be turned off). it is free but with the ability to purchase crystals to help you along. At the same time, the crystals can be earned through hard work (Love that in a game). The characters are interesting and you'll end up finding favourites, as you progress. I really enjoyed it, and I believe any person who enjoys tower defense or cute games with adorable characters will also enjoy this.
