Have you ever been talking to friends, coworkers, or just been torn on what to eat for lunch (or supper and breakfast for that matter)? Do you go to that new restaurant that just opened? Maybe BBQ would be a nice change of pace... There's always that vegan restaurant you like... Well now you don't have to be bothered with making those touch calls.
This could also come in handy for a split decision. Maybe 2 friends want to have tacos, and two friends want seafood... This could be your lucky tie breaker. Especially since your phone is completely unbiased.
All you have to do is shake the tiny bunny and let it decide your meal choice. it pulls the places from the destinations you have entered in manually.
I really liked the concept. I like the cute little rabbit. The input for entering new places to eat is simple enough. However, it is not without it's flaws.
The biggest flaw I have noticed is the lag. When you shake the rabbit the app lags a bit and the sound gets a bit off. Not to mention slightly annoying. But it doesn't crash (At least it has not done so for me). So that's a good point in its favour.
Another issue I have personally is the image/icon feature. When you first start the app it has some sample food places with icons that are really cute. However, you have no access to these icons. When adding a place, if you want more than a question mark box to appear by it you'll need to take a photo or add an image from your album. Which means the only way to have cute icons is to find some online (or make some), upload them to your phone and then access them via this app. It seems like a lot of trouble. i would like to see an icon gallery option that can be accessed through the app. Using the cute icons it had on the sample places. Personally I don't feel like looking all over the internet for logos for my favourite food places, cropping and resizing them into the right size and shape, then uploading them to my phone. It's a bit of a chore.
That being said, this application does do what it was made to do. it pulls a random food place from your list, and gives it to you. If you don't like what it chose, shake it again. It will give you a new result. It's simple and it gets the job done.
I think another fun feature might be a tracking feature. It could tell you the places you've been most recently (from it's results). You can flag anything you've gone to too often recently. Then it can temporarily remove it from the list. That way you don't end up in the same place every day. Another option would be for it to use your GPS and actually list some nearby dining establishments. You might find a place you didn't know existed. This could come in handy for people who do a lot of travelling for business. I hope the app creators add some of these functions in the future (Though considering it hasn't been updated since 2010, I'm not holding my breath). But if not, at least this app still does completes it's intended purpose. Straight and to the point.
