Juniper's Knot

Juniper's Knot App for iPhone
This is a free story that you can download from the app store.  The artwork is stunning and there is a background ambiance and sound effects.
I want to review this without giving away any plot points, so bare with me, I may occasionally be a bit vague.
Our story begins with a female, alone... waiting... What is she waiting for?  Well, we shall have to find out by reading further.
A young boy stumbles upon where she is waiting.  He seems reluctant to approach her.  Fearful, perhaps.  He has lost his way and needs to find his way back to his village.  However, he has been wandering for some time, and is hungry and tired.
Eventually he gets closer and the two characters discuss.
First you read the story through the view point of the female.  Later you will switch and be viewing the progression through the male's perspective... Then again from the female's view.  It wont be confusing.  You will see the switch.
You will find rather quickly that this girl is no mere 'girl'.  She is a sort of demon, so to speak.  She is trapped in a circle and unable to leave.  You will have to read the story to find out why this is.  The boy himself is quite curious about this as well.  Curious, but cautious.
She has been alone for so long... She wants only for a bit of company.  She asks the boy to stay and talk with her.  To tell her a story.  He decides to do this.  he seems to pity her.

This is as much of the story I care to get into.  It's not a very long story.  I was able to get through it in under an hour.  it's like a digital graphic novel.  You see the panels, but the characters never truly "animate" so to speak.  And the images are quite limited.  You'll see many of the same images over and over.  But it's not about a vast variety of images so much as it is enough of them to help you picture the story.  though admittedly, I would have liked a bit more to look at in some scenes..
Remember you can click on any of the images in this post to see it larger.  You can read the text as well.  I made sure not to use any "spoiler" images.
Aside from the story there is also a gallery.  You can view many images submitted by various artists.  You can view the illustrations from the game, guest art, concept art, listen to the music via the jukebox and view the credits.
I think this is a wonderful app.  The story is fairly good.  Not amazing, but a decent read, and a nice way to pass the time.
As far as age range for this... It does speak about some violence and have a small amount of vulgarity as far as dialog goes.  I'd day 13 and up would be safe.
Give it a try!  You might like it.  Especially so if you like fantasy stories, demon characters, elf like characters, magic and other such things.
