KoKoKo Lite

KoKoKo Lite App for iPhone
This is a speech/language learning app for children.  Learn the different parts of the body in either English or Korean.  This is also for people wanting to learn English or Korean.
This seemed like a fun way to practice my Korean.  After all, the best way to learn a new language is the same way children learn their first language.  however, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of... vocabulary.
The game only covers 5 body parts.  Eyes, ears, nose, mouth and head.  there is a paid version, but it doesn't list any additional body parts on their information page.  It just says that the full version adds intermission pages to help engage the child.
Now you may think "Hey, this is for little kids.  We can't expect a huge vocabulary here"... Well of course not.  But only 5 body parts?  Even for the target audience which is listed as being 2-6 (According to the app creator), that's a small list.
Word variety aside, the game uses 3D graphics.  This is really great.  Except it makes the file size huge.  So you end up with a 150+ megabyte file on your phone that only teaches 5 words in 2 languages.
When you launch the application you can choose either the male or female character to learn with.  The default language is English.  If you wish to switch to Korean you can click the rock in the bottom right, with the word bubble on it.
When you choose your character it will start by saying "KoKoKo" and then another body part (Or in English Nose Nose Nose).  Click the body part it says last.  If you get it correct they will congratulate you.  the character will do an animation associated with that body part.  Blowing a kiss for mouth and sneezing for nose.
This is the entire application.  There are no other features.  now, you wouldn't want a complicated application if you want your children to play this of course.  Not that I would let a 2 year old play with my iPhone, but to each their own.
The application isn't bad.  Limited, but not bad.  The biggest issue I honestly have with it is the fact that the file is so huge for an application that does very little.  I just can't see wasting that much space for something like this.  I can only hope the full version (99 cents)  is more fun.  Even by a child's standards this application seems a bit dull.

  1. A mini excavator is a compact and versatile piece of construction equipment designed for small to medium-sized projects. Despite its smaller size, it is powerful and efficient, capable of digging, trenching, and demolishing tasks in tight spaces where larger machines can't operate.
